Ice cream: how to avoid injury? Practical advice
Here’s the winter, and with it and frost, ice on the road may occur every day. She makes careful not only drivers, but also pedestrians, because the risk of injury when under the feet is slippery, is high. What to do in order not to damage the limbs or other parts of the body? And if fall is inevitable, which rules should be remembered to bring as little damage as possible?
Vulnerable limbs. First of all, traumas suffer extremities. This is due to various reasons: during the fall, many put their hands forward, not grouped. Legs are also vulnerable to falls, and they often have a major impact. During the inevitable fall, you should try to group properly, land on the side, then turn over and try to get up. It’s better to smear clothes than to break the limb. If the fall has occurred, and the arm or leg is heavily sore in a certain place, cold should be immediately applied to it. This can be, for example, snow or ice. If a crunch in a hand or a leg was heard during a fall, it’s likely a fracture. In this case, it is not necessary to move the limb, it is better to immediately call an ambulance.
How to walk in a crisis? If the streets are solid ice, walk better with small steps, bend your knees a little, step on the entire sole, do not raise your feet high. All the attention should concentrate on the process of movement, not to be distracted by talking on the phone or other similar things. It is also worth looking for areas without ice, where you can rest and take a few steps freely. If it becomes clear that the fall still started, it’s better to have time to sit down. This can restore the balance or reduce the possible consequences of the fall.
What should I know about winter shoes? In winter, especially when slippery, it’s best not to wear shoes on high, especially on thin heels. It is better to choose shoes with deep tread on the sole. If the street has become slippery sharply, but to get out absolutely necessary, the help can come ordinary plaque. To the soles of shoes should be stuck wide strips of adhesive plaster, and then walk on the street will be much more comfortable. Winter shoes should be not only warm, but also have a non-slip soles, otherwise the fall will be difficult to avoid.
